Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre will present its 27th season during the summer of 2010.

With the celebration of the company’s 25th anniversary, the professional musical theatre completed the production of 100 Broadway musicals since its 1984 inaugural season.  SSMT was founded by its Producing Artistic Director, Harold Herman, who wanted to provide affordable family entertainment in the community of Winchester/Frederick County and to give musical theatre students of Shenandoah Conservatory who were ready for work in a professional setting the opportunity to do so before venturing out to pursue their own careers.  It is with great pride and satisfaction that the company is able to boast the success in maintaining affordable ticket prices and encouraging careers in the field of theatre for many over the years, a number of whom have gone on to enjoy work in professional regional theatres and on the stages of Broadway.

Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre produces four Broadway musicals each summer in the beautiful 630-seat Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre on the campus of Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. Thirteen performances are given of each musical over a two-week period drawing audiences from a 150-mile radius with groups traveling in from as far away as Ohio and North Carolina.
